I am passionate about public transport and aviation, every city and every country has its own way of managing those. I find it to be very interesting, and I have a strong desire to explore them. Metro system in Warsaw, Poland in 2007 🇵🇱
One of the newest metro systems in Europe, Warsaw Metro is a great example of a well-organized public transport system components. In 2007, the only Warsaw metro line was connecting many neighborhoods with the city center. 81-717 type trains being the major part of the fleet, while modern Alstom Metropolis trains were also an important part of the system.

Спасибо за это ценное видео! :) Было очень интересно увидеть, как была организована работа челнока между станциями Plac Wilsona и Marymont в 2006-2008 годах. Забавно, что он оставался четырёхвагонным, в то время как остальные "номерные" уже были шестивагонными. Ещё забавно то, что имея неплохие Альстомы, год спустя Варшавское метро снова купило вагоны у Вагонмаша, на этот раз так называемых "пришельцев", то есть, по сути, видоизменённые "номерные". Они вроде тоже уже не работают, но к счастью, я успел прокатиться на них в январе 2023 года :)

They already tried hydrogen buses and gave up on them. I suspect someone siphoned off some money for the buses or the charging stations. The 5V charging socket is in diesel buses too.

I remember the Belorusian trolleybuses in Riga. From the start they seemed low quality and after 5-10 years lots of rusty details. Then they started burning and were quickly scrapped. Unless it is built like a tank as in the the 70ies (maybe still 80ies), nothing fom Russia, Belarus or China should be bought. Even if China has the best quality of those countries, many transit agencies have regretted their purchase.
Nice video! It will be so interesting to see how all stations eventually will look like and be used. I hope it indeed will be the boost for railways in the Baltics!

Ездил я в Вильнюсе на троллейбусе,это были как раз старые шкоды что на видео
А как планируют вести дальше Rail baltica за Ригой, вдоль побережья через Скулте до Пярну? Потому что разобранная старая трасса через Айнажи и Алою явно не подходит для быстрого сообщения.
Тут есть карта - info.railbaltica.org/en/interactive-map . Пойдет в сторону Салацгривы, далее в Пярну. Трассировка будет совершенно новая (в отличие от нынешних или закрытых ж/д линий.
Скажите, а что за здания на 6.23?
Это новые корпуса для ЛУ (Латвийского Университета).
Скоро, уже в конце этого 2024 лета на улицы выйдут 20 новых троллейбусов Škoda 32 Tr. А в 2025 году поступят ещё 70 новых Škoda 32 Tr. А Чехословацкие уйдут в историю. Уходит эпоха, но старые троллейбусы давно уже надо было заменить у нас в Вильнюсе.
Это да. Шкоды 14Тр и 15Тр, но время идет вперед.

Some quality nostalgia here. My first time in Latvia was 2008, so much has changed since then... maybe not the asphalt 🤣 Also I miss the microbuses not just the RS ones, but all independent drivers with rusty old Sprinters, you could go centre from Ziepniekkalns for about 30 centimes.

When it comes to RTA (Roads & Transport Authority), I’ve been on their Taxis, Buses, Abra Boats, and their Metro Station but surprisingly not their trams.
When did you record this if it was 2023 almost all of the buses do not have turn on the a/c

Спасибо за интересное видео! :) В Вильнюсе очень много интересных автобусов, вам даже не все удалось заснять (в видео нет автобусов MAN Lion's City из Осло, газовых Solaris и Castrosua, единственного в Литве Anadolu Isuzu Citiport 12, а также электрических микроавтобусов Karsan e-Jest и Altas Novus Cityline). Но вам очень повезло заснять один из самых старых автобусов в Вильнюсе - MAN A23 NG313, ещё и в Вуппертальской ливрее :) Кстати, как вы могли заметить, автобусы в Вильнюсе обслуживаются тремя перевозчиками. Это: 1) VVT (основной перевозчик, ему же принадлежат и троллейбусы) 2) Transrevis (у них имеется 70 средних автобусов Anadolu Isuzu Citibus и 50 гармошек Scania Citywide LFA) 3) Kautra (32 электрических микроавтобуса Altas Novus Cityline) И ещё совсем недавно, в середине июня, начали работать газовые MANы из Вены. Их взяли в аренду, поскольку на данный момент есть дефицит своей техники. Жаль, конечно, что они не новые (им уже 13-14 лет), но они всё равно интересные :)

Чистая случайность, так как вылавливал Шкоду 15Тр №2602 :))) Сколько помню, в Вильнюсе всегда было немало разных б/у автобусов, что добавляло разнообразия :) Наличие нескольких перевозчиков относительно необычно для наших краев :)

Better than trams, because the buses can reach any point using regular bus routes and bus lanes. Buses can divert or go around obstacles when using the roads of course, trams can't. Less maintenance heavy infrastructure, less costly hardware. With all electric buses being used, this has got to be a no brainer.

Зачётная система для города, в котором даже миллиона жителей не наберётся (если не считать пригороды). Жаль только, что архитектурно всё скучно очень, чисто практичный подход.
"Архитеркурных излишеств" точно нет, но лично мне дизайн станций на новой линии очень даже пришелся по душе :)

1:25 The LUAS in Dublin is a most civilised way to get around Dublin, is the best part of coming home to Ireland on visits and I love the fact that onboard tram announcements are in my native Irish Gaelic language, as well as in English - the design of the trams themselves is iconic and classy - it’s just a pity that there are so few tramlines around Dublin and I would love to see them replacing many Dublin Bus routes
I was thinking the same thing TBH - Dublin definitely needs more of high-capacity urban rail lines (ideally, to be separated from other traffic). Traffic congestion in Dublin on weekend (not even on a workday) were like crazy...

I find it wild the stadtbahn platforms you show are wildly long, but only 2-car sets ever run at a time. Can longer sets potentially run or are some platforms too short?
Good question to be honest, I don't know the system so precise. Possibly this was planned to handle 3-car (or even 4-car) sets in future, like it happens in North American cities like Denver, Calgary or Edmonton.
I hope they can find a way to give modern trains and western extensions to M1 while still preserving the heritage. Maybe a design like Vienna's U6 trains could work (with open gangways of course)
